When the inevitable ‘Engineering Works’ happens - normally on a Bank Holiday, it is not always possible to re-route train paths so a rail replacement is provided. Perhaps not ideal, but at least customers (passengers) can still reach their destination. These can be coaches or indeed double-decker buses. These are not just provided for railway passengers but also for other networks including Tram & LUL. There is even a book available on this subject based on London & the South East written by Malcolm Batten. Modellers are also catered for.
