Have eventually managed to make the ABC section fully automatic! Section controller from Blocksignalling.co.uk, ABC module from DCC Concepts, 12v high active relay module, Dapol semaphore. The video shows it all in operation. 2 infrared sensors switch the section controller on and off which also sends a signal (via the relay module) to the semaphore to change!
