My layout development has been a very gradual process - partly because of limited time, partly because it’s in the garage roof, so too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer, and partly because I have spent a lot of time on the back scenes before modelling in the foreground - I wanted the layout to extend beyond the edges of the baseboard and wanted to paint my own back scenes to set it in Somerset where I spent my teenage years (with the station modelled on Tucker Street, Wells - so first I had to teach to myself to paint! Anyway I recently finished off the area around the station, that I’m quite pleased with, so thought I would share some pictures…
