As I mentioned earlier, I will soon be attending the Swanage Railway Model Railway Weekend as an exhibitor. I will not be taking all parts of my BMB Module to England. At first, I planned to make a small fiddle yard measuring 900 by 560 mm with four short storage tracks. However, after reconsideration, I decided to go for a slightly larger format. As you can see, I will now build a fiddle yard 1200 mm long, with three tracks, two of which can be connected to my continuous home layout. During the exhibition at the Swanage Railway, these three tracks can be used as storage and shunting tracks. Why this change? Well, it gives me the possibility at home to make the platform at the Corfe Castle station building longer. The second reason is the reuse of a “hat” section that I still had lying around. Together with a “carrying tray”, it forms a module section. Such a hat section is 59 mm high, and the carrying tray is 141 mm, making a total height of 200 mm. However, I will not be taking the carrying tray with me in order to save space in the car. This means that the corresponding legs are too short. But there is a solution for that: an extension piece will be made for each of the four legs.
