This is my latest idea, a scratch built track cleaner 🤯 It’s based on a bogie bolster and utilises a motor and gearbox from fleabay, the motor is powered via a rectifier from Kyte’s Lights with a home made adapter to accept a small 3M polishing head. We use these heads in my metal shop to highly polish stainless steel. The track it is cleaning here has not been cleaned or used since Christmas 24! The Class 37 followed the cleaner round the whole circuit first time. I am really pleased with the result, it will also mean that the really difficult parts of the layout can now be easily cleaned 😁😁
