OK not railway related, but way too good not to share,,,,,,,,,,,, Photographed by Nino Lo Giudice from the rooftop of fellow photographer David Kapernick’s apartment on the edge of the Brisbane River. This FA-18F Super Hornet is based at Amberley RAAF Base Queensland and was taken during the Riverfire rehearsal. Riverfire is an event held as part of the Brisbane Festival [beginning of September]. The gaggle of photographers dressed in dayglow flak jackets are actually on the top of Brisbane's, Story Bridge. This image is © Copyright Nino Lo Guidice 2022. The aircraft fly as part of the fire works display and as it is pitch black when they do, practicing is rather important as they are way down amongst the highrise buildings and the river and flight path has a 90 degree somewhat tight bend in the middle which they have to thread through. A few years back the flights were the absolute best using F111's in full afterburner mode. Pity they were retired............ A little telephoto lens compression, definitely not photo shopped or AI generated. Some practice footage from last year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdjwtGtWCyY
