A structural engineering question. I’m suspending a controller shelf from the side of my baseboard to create an L shape (i.e. controller shelf sticking out at the front of the baseboard and below it). I’m planning to use steel L plates screwed to the sides of the boards. Is it stronger to put them on the ‘outside’ of the L, or the ‘inside’, or both (I have 4), or doesn’t it actually matter? Thank you.
