Work is now progressing with the Woodbridge Tide Mill model. I've printed some decent quality versions of the surveyor's drawings and have mounted these on grey card of various thicknesses. I'm using the plans, sections and elevations to ensure that everything is exactly the right size. This involves cutting down the various parts to allow for the card thickness. So for example, the interior walls are a couple of mm shorter in length than the corresponding external walls. I'm cutting out one or two window apertures on each wall to create specific reference points before trimming each piece, then checking that I've cut each piece correctly by temporarily assembling the pieces using sticky tape.
