This is where it all started in earnest... the latest phase of my indulgence in this hobby, that is. A familiar story, I expect, in that it took until retirement to really get going with it - work commitments, various house and garden refurbishments, and family all took precedence early on. Then, a move to Wales late in 2014 in order to embark on a self-build house project with the firm intention of incorporating a railway room in the basement. Prior to that I had acquired exhibition layout Penrhos from friend and Pendon colleague Dave Spencer which I had been taking around the circuit but by the time the new house and garden and been completed it was starting to show it's age. So I decided to abandon my half-finished loft layout extracted from the last house in favour of making Penrhos a permanent feature and add some extra storage and runaround options. At the right time Lydgate, too, became available so I've been adapting both to fit the new home. I reckoned, given my rate of progress over the past 40 or so years, if I ever wanted to see a layout "completed" then starting from scratch again would not be my best stategy (and Dave's models were superb!) #penrhos #lydgate
