WW2 Special Trains. Both Eisenhower and Churchill had their own trains to travel around the country. Ike's was codenamed 'Bayonet' and Churchill's was "Rugged". I've found details of Ike's coaches, but I can't find what 'Rugged' consisted of other than it was LMS stock* - Ike's was LNER. Does anyone know what coaches made up 'Rugged' ? I've searched using Google, Bing and Duckduckgo but the results don't give the details I'm looking for. * It did also include a luxury private vehicle built for the chairman of the London North Western Railway in 1920, Numbered 45000, being self contained with lounge, bedrooms, bathroom, dining room and kitchen. This has been preserved and is on show at the Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trusts' West Shed Museum at the Midland Railway-Butterley near Ripley in Derbyshire. UPDATE. With help from David N. it transpires that Pullman Car 'Lydia' was part of the configuration, plus 2 LMS Clerestory Coaches 803 and 804. I don't suppose anyone knows if there's a OO Guage model of 45000 around anywhere, either in kit form or RTR ? Condition is not important, I can restore it as necessary. But as ever, the price would be very important !
