#weekendmodelling #postit Trial fitting of Hunt couplings! I'd ordered 2 packs of these magnetic couplings to try them out as part of an exercise to whittle down my stock of wagons. There are a few variations to choose from but I selected the 'Close coupling - for clip socket' and also 'Pivoting Intermediate Screw Type Couplings' (for Mainline type fitting). Both types were the newer 'Elite' design which somehow gets around the polarity issue... ie the wagons can be presented either way round and it will connect to another wagon. One pic shows a wagon with the clip-on type, another with the Mainline fitting and the other is a Hornby. The lugs on the latter were too fat (to fit the holes on the coupling) but I found it quite easy to trim them a little... but in the end I swapped the chunky Hornby tension locks for the discarded Mainline/Bachmann couplings... not ideal but they are a bit smaller and offer quite close coupling.
