#DCC #computercontrol First attempt at a digital mimic panel. I temporarily hooked up one of the point servos to a Train Tech servo board and wired it in to the DCC power, and after a couple of attempts got it all programmed and it worked. A bit of playing around in JMRI and we have a mimic panel. However there are a couple of issues that I’m not too happy with. Firstly, when thrown there is still noise coming from the servo, suggesting power is still being sent to it and I’m concerned that this may burn it out in time. Secondly, it turns out that using switches is easier. With DCC control I have to switch away from the screen with the throttle, which on a shunting layout soon gets annoying! I shall give it a few days of use and see how I get on
